Philip K Dick certainly visited the Museum of Anthropology during his 1972 stay in Vancouver. Having written about US cultural art and design objects becoming sought-after anthropological artifacts in the alternate future of The Man in the High Castle (1962), it is unknown whether he made the connection between the colonialism he depicted in that novel and the modes of display of indigenous artworks at MOA at the time.
