Marmite IV installation at Tannery Arts @ the Drawing Room, London

The Marmite Prize was co-founded in 2006 by Stephanie Moran and Marcus Cope. It started out as a small grass-roots painting prize at The Residence in Bethnal Green and grew into a nationally touring Arts Council funded prize exhibition.

Marmite I at the Residence, London

It played with the idea of an art prize, while offering the selected artists the best experience possible: picking up the chosen artworks from all around the country, a full-colour catalogue, exhibitions spread across the UK, and low entry fees.

Marmite III at Central Art Gallery, Tameside

Each year the prize was dedicated to a different artist, which informed the exhibition installation concept.
